Multimodal ChatGPT-4 will arrive next week, says Microsoft
Microsoft Germany has announced that GPT-4, the next generation of the GPT natural language model, will be released next week according to the HEISE website.
The launch of GPT-4 is imminent, as Microsoft Germany CTO Andreas Braun mentioned at an artificial intelligence kick-off event on March 9, 2023.
GPT-4 will be able to handle multiple modalities such as images, sounds and text, which will make it a more advanced language model than previous models.
GPT-4 is coming next week: At an hour-long hybrid information event titled “AI in Focus — Digital Kickoff” on March 9, 2023, four Microsoft Germany employees presented the Large Language Models (LLM) such as the GPT series as a disruptive force for enterprises and detailed their Azure-OpenAI offering.
The launch event took place in German and the Heise news agency was present.
Casually, Andreas Braun, CTO of Microsoft Germany and Lead Data & AI STU, mentioned the imminent release of GPT-4.
The fact that Microsoft is improving multimodality with OpenAI should no longer be a secret since the release of Kosmos-1 in early March.
We will be introducing GPT-4 next week. There we will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities — like videos.

The CTO referred to LLM (Language Model) as a significant development in machine learning because it enables machines to comprehend natural language, which was previously only possible through statistical analysis done by humans. However, technology has advanced to a point where LLM can now effectively work in all languages, enabling users to ask questions in one language and receive answers in another. With the integration of multimodality, Microsoft (OpenAI) plans to further improve the LLM model by making it more comprehensive.
